Epson ET-2840 / L3560 E-01 — Printer error
A printer error occurred. Epson says to restart the printer and check inside for a paper jam if the error continues.
- Turn the printer off and back on. Let it initialize fully.
- If E-01 returns, check inside for jammed paper. Remove scraps and full sheets using the normal jam procedure.
- If no jam is present and E-01 persists, use Epson support. A persistent printer error may require service.
Epson ET-2840 / L3560 E-02 — Scanner error
Epson defines E-02 as a scanner error.
- Turn the product off. Wait a few seconds.
- Turn it back on and let the scanner initialize. Do not move the scanner mechanism by hand.
- If E-02 returns, use Epson support. The public user procedure does not call for internal scanner disassembly.
Epson ET-2840 / L3560 E-12 — Borderless printing ink pad needs replacement
On ET-2840/L3560, E-12 means the borderless-printing ink pad needs replacement.
- Stop trying borderless jobs. The printer intentionally disables borderless printing at this point.
- Use bordered printing if you need temporary output. Other printing remains available according to Epson.
- Arrange ink-pad replacement through Epson service. Epson says this pad is not user-replaceable.
Epson ET-2840 / L3560 I-22 — WPS push-button setup
I-22 indicates the printer is ready for Wi-Fi setup using the router/access point WPS push button.
- Find the WPS button or WPS control in the router settings. Do not reset the router.
- Start WPS while I-22 is displayed. Keep the printer within normal wireless range.
- Wait for the printer to complete connection. If WPS is unavailable, use another supported Wi-Fi setup method.
Epson ET-2840 / L3560 I-23 — WPS PIN-code setup
I-23 indicates WPS PIN setup; the displayed PIN must be entered into the router/access point within two minutes.
- Open the router/access point WPS PIN setup. Use its normal administration interface.
- Enter the PIN shown on the printer. Do this within two minutes.
- If time expires, use the new PIN shown by the printer. The old PIN is no longer valid.
Epson ET-2840 / L3560 I-31 — Wi-Fi Auto Connect setup
I-31 indicates Wi-Fi Auto Connect setup should be completed from the computer using Epson setup software.
- Open the Epson installer/setup program for the exact model. Use Epson software for ET-2840/L3560.
- Choose the wireless setup path. Follow the on-screen steps.
- Confirm the printer joins the intended Wi-Fi network. Then test printing from the computer.
Epson ET-2840 / L3560 I-41 — Paper Setup Auto Display is disabled
I-41 means Paper Setup Auto Display is disabled, which prevents AirPrint from being used normally.
- Open the printer paper-source/settings menu. Find Paper Setup Auto Display.
- Turn Paper Setup Auto Display on. This allows AirPrint to receive the needed paper configuration.
- Retry AirPrint. If it still fails, troubleshoot the network/AirPrint path separately.
Epson ET-2840 / L3560 I-60 — WSD scan compatibility warning
I-60 indicates the computer may not support the printer's Scan to Computer (WSD) function or the connection is not suitable.
- Confirm the printer and computer are connected. Network/WSD scanning depends on the printer being reachable.
- Check whether WSD scanning is supported on the computer. Epson limits this function to supported Windows environments.
- Use Epson scanning software if WSD is not suitable. Do not treat I-60 as a printer hardware failure.
Epson ET-2840 / L3560 Recovery Mode — Firmware update failed
Recovery Mode appears after a firmware update fails.
- Connect the printer directly by USB. Avoid an unstable wireless path during recovery.
- Run Epson's firmware updater for the exact model. Do not interrupt power during the update.
- If Recovery Mode remains after a successful retry, contact Epson. Firmware recovery may require service assistance.
Epson ET-2840 / L3560 W-01 — Paper jam
Epson defines W-01 as a paper jam.
- Remove jammed paper using the normal path. Pull slowly and remove scraps.
- Press the button indicated on the LCD. This clears the jam state after paper is removed.
- If W-01 remains, power the printer off and back on. Repeated jams in the same location may indicate a feed-path issue.
Epson ET-2840 / L3560 W-14 — Borderless ink pad nearing end of life
W-14 means the borderless printing ink pad is nearing the end of its service life.
- Press Start if you need to continue printing. The warning remains until the pad is replaced.
- Plan authorized service. Epson says the borderless ink pad is not user-replaceable.
- Do not confuse this warning with E-12. E-12 is the replacement-required condition.
