E-01 — Printer error

A printer error occurred.

  2. If E-01 returns, check for a paper jam and remove all scraps.
  3. If there is no jam and E-01 persists, use Epson support/service.

E-02 — Scanner error

A scanner error occurred.

  1. Turn the product off and back on.
  2. Retry a scan after initialization.
  3. If E-02 returns, use Epson scanner/service support.

E-11 — Ink pad needs replacement

The internal waste-ink pad has reached its replacement point.

  1. This is not an ink-tank refill message.
  2. Arrange pad replacement through Epson/authorized service; Epson states these pads are not user-replaceable.
  3. Do not use a counter reset as a substitute for the physical pad replacement.

W-01 — Paper jam

Paper is jammed in the product.

  1. Remove the jammed sheet and any scraps.
  2. Press the button indicated on the LCD to clear the error.
  3. If W-01 remains, turn the printer off and back on; repeated jams need feed-path diagnosis.

W-11 — Ink pad nearing end of service life

The waste-ink pad is approaching its service limit.

  1. Press OK if Epson allows printing to continue.
  2. Plan authorized pad service before it reaches the stop condition.
  3. Do not confuse this with low ink in the tanks.

I-22 — WPS push-button setup

The printer is waiting for WPS push-button wireless setup.

  1. Start WPS on the access point/router.
  2. Wait for the printer to complete connection.
  3. If the router has no WPS, use another Epson-supported Wi-Fi setup method.

I-23 — WPS PIN setup

The printer is waiting for its displayed PIN to be entered in the access point/computer.

  1. Open the router/access-point WPS PIN screen.
  2. Enter the current printer PIN within two minutes.
  3. If it times out, use the new PIN the printer generates.

I-31 — Computer-guided wireless setup

Wireless setup should be completed through Epson's installer on the computer.

  1. Run the Epson installer for ET-2850/ET-2850U/L4260.
  2. Follow the wireless connection prompts.
  3. Confirm the printer joins the intended network and test printing.

I-41 — Paper Setup Auto Display disabled

Paper Setup Auto Display is disabled, which prevents normal AirPrint use.

  1. Open the printer's paper settings.
  2. Enable Paper Setup Auto Display.
  3. Retry AirPrint.

I-60 — WSD scan compatibility warning

The computer may not support Scan to PC (WSD). Epson's cited page limits this WSD function to certain older English Windows versions.

  1. Confirm the printer and PC are connected normally.
  2. If the PC environment does not support this WSD function, use Epson's scanning software or another supported scan method instead.
  3. Do not treat I-60 as a printer hardware failure by itself.

Recovery Mode / Update Firmware

A firmware update failed.

  1. Connect the printer to the computer by USB.
  2. Run Epson's firmware update again for the exact model.
  3. Do not interrupt power/USB during recovery.
  4. If Recovery Mode remains, use Epson support.
