Epson WorkForce WF-110 Status Codes and Fixes

Exact WF-110 display codes covering printer errors, maintenance-box conditions, battery temperature/charge, paper jams, cartridges, wireless setup, and firmware recovery.

E-01 — Printer error

The WF-110 detected a printer error.

  1. Turn the printer off and back on.
  2. If E-01 returns, check the paper path for jammed paper or scraps.
  3. If the path is clear and E-01 remains, the printer needs Epson service diagnosis.

E-11 — Ink pad at end of service life

The printer's internal ink pad has reached its service limit.

  1. Stop treating this as a cartridge problem; it is a waste-ink maintenance condition.
  2. Arrange Epson-authorized service for the ink pad.
  3. A counter reset alone is not a physical repair for a saturated pad.

E-12 — Maintenance box full

The replaceable maintenance box has reached capacity.

  1. Obtain the correct WF-110 maintenance box.
  2. Replace it using Epson's normal user procedure.
  3. Do not attempt to empty and reuse a box that the printer has marked full.

E-13 — Maintenance box missing or installed incorrectly

The printer cannot use the maintenance box because it is absent or not seated correctly.

  1. Open the maintenance-box area and confirm a compatible box is installed.
  2. Remove and reinstall it firmly.
  3. If the correct box is seated and E-13 remains, inspect for damage/contamination around the box contacts and use Epson support.

E-14 — Maintenance box not recognized

The installed maintenance box cannot be recognized.

  1. Confirm the box is the correct model/type for the WF-110.
  2. Remove and reinstall it.
  3. If a known-correct box still produces E-14, replace the box or escalate to Epson support.

E-21 / E-25 — Battery error

The WF-110 detected a battery-related error.

  1. Turn the printer off and disconnect charging power briefly.
  2. Let the battery/printer return to normal operating conditions, then restart.
  3. If E-21 or E-25 returns, stop relying on repeated resets and use Epson battery/service support.

E-22 / E-26 — Battery too cold

The battery temperature is below the range where the printer can operate/charge normally.

  1. Move the printer to a normal indoor-temperature location.
  2. Let the battery warm naturally; do not heat it with a heater, hair dryer, or other direct heat source.
  3. Retry only after the printer and battery have acclimated.

E-23 / E-27 — Battery too hot

The battery temperature is too high.

  1. Stop printing/charging and move the printer away from direct sun or a hot vehicle.
  2. Let it cool naturally in a ventilated indoor area.
  3. If the code returns at normal room temperature, use Epson battery/service support.

E-24 — Battery charge too low

The battery does not have enough charge to continue the requested operation.

  1. Connect the WF-110 to its proper AC adapter/power source.
  2. Allow the battery to charge before retrying a large job.
  3. If it will not charge or E-24 returns immediately after charging, troubleshoot the adapter, battery, and charging system.

W-01 — Paper jam in rear paper feed

Paper is jammed in the rear feed path.

  1. Remove visible paper slowly from the rear feed.
  2. Check for small torn pieces and reload clean, flat paper.
  3. If W-01 repeats in the same location, inspect the feed path/rollers rather than repeatedly forcing paper through.

W-02 — Paper jam inside printer

The printer detected paper jammed internally.

  1. Open only the normal user-accessible cover/path and remove the sheet carefully.
  2. Remove all scraps before closing the printer.
  3. If no paper is present but W-02 returns, an internal paper sensor/feed mechanism may need service.

W-11 — Ink pad nearing end of service life

The internal waste-ink pad is approaching its service limit.

  1. Printing may continue temporarily if the printer allows it.
  2. Plan service before the warning becomes a stop condition.
  3. Do not treat it as a low-cartridge warning; it concerns waste ink collected during maintenance/cleaning.

W-12 — Ink cartridge installed incorrectly

A cartridge is not seated or installed correctly.

  1. Identify the cartridge indicated by the printer.
  2. Remove it and reinstall it firmly in the correct position.
  3. If W-12 remains, check that the cartridge is compatible and undamaged.

W-13 — Ink cartridge not recognized

The printer cannot recognize one or more installed cartridges.

  1. Confirm the cartridge is correct for the WF-110.
  2. Remove and reseat it.
  3. If a compatible cartridge still is not recognized, replace that cartridge; persistent recognition failure with multiple known-good cartridges points back to the printer.

I-22 — WPS push-button setup

The printer is waiting for WPS push-button Wi-Fi setup.

  1. Start WPS on the router/access point while the printer is in this state.
  2. Keep the printer within normal wireless range.
  3. If the router does not support WPS, use another Epson-supported wireless setup method.

I-23 — WPS PIN setup

The printer is waiting for the displayed WPS PIN to be entered into the router/access point.

  1. Open the router's WPS PIN setup.
  2. Enter the PIN currently displayed by the printer within the allowed time.
  3. If it expires, restart the WPS PIN procedure and use the new code.

I-31 — Computer-guided Wi-Fi setup

The printer is ready to complete wireless setup through Epson's software on a computer.

  1. Run the Epson setup/installer for the WF-110.
  2. Choose the wireless setup path and follow the prompts.
  3. After connection, confirm the printer receives an IP address and test printing.

I-41 — Paper Configuration must be enabled for AirPrint

The printer's paper-configuration setting is preventing normal AirPrint use.

  1. Open the printer's paper/configuration settings.
  2. Enable the paper-configuration option specified by Epson.
  3. Retry AirPrint after the setting is enabled.

I-81 — Switched to battery power

This is an informational status indicating the WF-110 switched from external power to its battery.

  1. Check the AC adapter/cable if you expected the printer to remain on external power.
  2. If running on battery is intentional, no repair is required.
  3. If it repeatedly drops to battery while plugged in, troubleshoot the adapter, outlet, and power connector.

Recovery Mode — Firmware update failed

The printer entered firmware recovery after an update did not complete correctly.

  1. Connect the WF-110 directly to the computer using USB.
  2. Run Epson's firmware update/recovery process for the exact model again.
  3. Do not interrupt power or disconnect USB during recovery.
  4. If Recovery Mode remains, use Epson support.
