Epson E-11 Error

E-11 means the printer's main waste-ink pad has reached its replacement point. Epson identifies this as a service item on this family.

What this code means

The printer has tracked enough waste ink to require pad service. This is not merely an on-screen counter inconvenience; the physical waste-ink handling item is part of the condition.

What to try

Step 1

Do not treat a counter reset as the repair.

Resetting a value by itself does not replace or service the saturated waste-ink item.

Step 2

Use still-available non-print functions only if needed.

Epson notes that scanning can remain available even when printing is stopped by the pad condition.

Step 3

Arrange proper waste-ink-pad service.

Use Epson or an authorized service provider for the exact model.

Step 4

Retest only after proper service.

Once the service is complete and the printer returns to Ready, retry the original print job.

When to stop and get help

This is a service boundary. Do not open the printer to wash or improvise a waste-ink-pad repair, and do not use an unofficial counter reset as a substitute for replacing the service item.
