  3. If E-01 returns with the paper path clear, use Epson service/support rather than opening internal assemblies.
Scanner

E-02 — Scanner error

The scanner failed to initialize or operate normally.

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Turn it back on and let the scanner initialize without moving the scanner mechanism by hand.
  3. If E-02 returns, use Epson support/service.

The main waste-ink pad has reached its service limit.

  1. Do not try to reset the counter without replacing the service item.

Wi-Fi setup

I-22 — WPS push-button setup

The printer is waiting for WPS push-button setup.

  1. Start WPS on the router/access point while the printer is waiting.
  2. If the router has no physical WPS button, use its normal administration interface if it provides a WPS control.

  1. Confirm the printer and computer are connected normally.
  2. If WSD scanning is unavailable in the computer's environment, use Epson's supported scanning software instead.
  3. Do not treat I-60 by itself as a scanner hardware failure.
Firmware recovery

Recovery Mode — Firmware update failed

The printer entered Recovery Mode because a firmware update did not complete successfully.

  1. Connect the printer directly to the computer with USB; Epson says network firmware updating is unavailable in Recovery Mode.
  2. Run the Epson firmware update again for the exact model.
  3. Keep power and USB connected until the update completes. If Recovery Mode remains, use Epson support.
