Sharp BP-22C25 Machine Status Messages and Fixes

Sharp publishes a machine-status list for the BP-22C25 that separates actual errors from paper/supply warnings and normal states such as Online, Warming Up and Busy. Use the exact wording below before treating every status as a hardware fault.

Applies toSharp BP-22C25. Some wording also appears on other current Sharp BP-series machines, but this page only claims the status list verified in the BP-22C25 manual.
Printer / error

Printer Error

The BP-22C25 status page lists this as its highest-priority printer error condition.

  1. Read the touch-panel message for the more specific cause.
  2. Correct the indicated paper, supply, cover or machine condition rather than guessing from “Printer Error” alone.
  3. If the panel shows “Call for service. Code:xx-xx”, use the separate Sharp service-code guide and preserve the complete code.
Account / policy

Account Limit

The current user or account has reached a configured usage restriction.

  1. Confirm the correct user/account is logged in.
  2. If accounting is centrally managed, ask the administrator to review the user's limits.
  3. Do not reinstall drivers or change printer hardware for an account-limit condition.
Paper / settings

Incorrect Paper

The loaded or selected paper does not match what the job expects.

  1. Read the requested paper size and type on the panel.
  2. Load the requested media or choose a tray containing compatible media.
  3. Confirm the tray's registered paper size/type matches what is physically loaded.
Maintenance / service

Overdue service maintenance

The machine has reached or passed a scheduled maintenance point.

  1. Record the maintenance message.
  2. Arrange the normal scheduled maintenance through the servicing dealer or technician.
  3. Do not clear maintenance counters without performing the corresponding maintenance.
Paper jam

Paper Jam

The machine detected a paper misfeed.

  1. Follow the jam-location instructions on the touch panel.
  2. Remove all sheets and scraps along the indicated user-accessible path.
  3. If jams repeat, check paper condition, tray loading and guide adjustment before assuming a hardware failure.
Supply / option

Marker Supply Missing

Sharp lists this named supply condition in the BP-22C25 status priority table.

  1. Read the touch-panel message for the specific supply or option the machine expects.
  2. Install or reseat only the user-replaceable item identified by the machine.
  3. If the panel does not identify a user-serviceable item, use Sharp/dealer support rather than opening internal assemblies.
Toner / supply

Toner Empty

The toner supply has reached its empty state.

  1. Replace the toner cartridge indicated by the machine.
  2. Use the model's normal cartridge replacement procedure and keep toner away from heat/flame.
  3. Confirm the message clears after the cartridge is fully installed.
Waste toner / supply

Replace toner collection container.

The toner collection container is full and needs replacement.

  1. Tap the panel's instructions and follow the BP-22C25 replacement sequence.
  2. Keep the removed container level so used toner does not spill.
  3. Do not touch internal cords or connectors; Sharp specifically cautions against this.
Cover / door

Cover Open

A cover or user-accessible section is not fully closed.

  1. Read the panel to identify the open cover or separated device.
  2. Close it firmly without forcing it.
  3. If the message remains with all covers visibly closed, inspect for a jammed sheet or obstruction before arranging service.
Paper supply

Paper Empty

The machine has no usable paper for the requested job.

  1. Add paper as instructed by the touch panel.
  2. Match the tray guides and registered size/type to the media.
  3. Resume the job once the machine recognizes the paper.
Paper tray

Input Tray Empty

An input tray is empty.

  1. Identify the tray shown by the machine.
  2. Load supported paper without exceeding the tray limit.
  3. Verify the paper-size guides and tray settings.
Paper tray / open

Specified Input Tray Open

The input tray requested by the current job is open.

  1. Push the indicated tray fully into the machine.
  2. Make sure no paper or object prevents the tray from seating.
  3. Retry the job after the status clears.
Output tray / full

Specified Output Tray Full

The output destination selected for the job has reached capacity.

  1. Remove completed pages from the indicated output tray.
  2. Make sure sheets are not blocking the output sensor area.
  3. Resume printing when the machine clears the full-tray state.
Printer / offline

Offline

The machine reports that the printer is not in its normal online state.

  1. Check the machine's own status first; clear any paper, cover, supply or service message.
  2. Confirm the network/USB connection only after the printer itself is ready.
  3. If the printer is otherwise ready but Windows still says Offline, use Printer Triage's Windows Offline flow to separate reachability from queue/port status.
Printer / warning

Printer Warning

The printer has a warning condition rather than a fully blocking error.

  1. Open the machine information/status screen for the detailed warning.
  2. Address the named condition, especially low supplies or approaching maintenance.
  3. Do not replace unrelated parts based only on the generic “Printer Warning” label.
Toner / warning

Toner Low

Toner remains available, but the cartridge is approaching replacement.

  1. Prepare the correct replacement toner for the model.
  2. Continue normal printing while the machine allows it.
  3. Replace the cartridge when the machine reaches its replacement/empty instruction.
Paper / warning

Paper Low

A paper source is running low.

  1. Identify the low tray.
  2. Refill it with the same supported size/type, or let the current job finish if enough paper remains.
  3. Keep the guides correctly adjusted after refilling.
Paper tray / open

Input Tray Open

An input tray is open even if it is not the specifically requested tray for the current job.

  1. Close the indicated tray fully.
  2. Remove any obstruction preventing it from seating.
  3. Confirm the status clears.
Output tray / full

Output Tray Full

Sharp notes that a detector stops printing when the output tray becomes full.

  1. Remove printed output from the tray.
  2. Check for curled or poorly stacked sheets blocking the output area.
  3. Printing should resume after the tray is no longer full.
Output tray / warning

Output Tray Nearly Full

The output tray is approaching its capacity.

  1. Remove completed pages before the tray becomes full.
  2. Keep the output area clear so paper can stack normally.
Maintenance / warning

Near to overdue service maintenance

The scheduled maintenance point is approaching.

  1. Plan normal service before the machine reaches the overdue state.
  2. Record any maintenance-related message for the servicing dealer.
Printer / ready

Online

This is a normal state: the printer is online.

  1. No corrective action is needed for “Online” by itself.
  2. If a job still will not print, troubleshoot the job, queue, port or driver rather than treating Online as an error.
Power / energy save

Auto Power Shut-Off

The machine is in its automatic energy-saving shut-off mode.

  1. Wake the machine using its normal power/wake control.
  2. Allow it to return to ready state before testing printing.
Startup / warmup

Warming Up

The machine is preparing after startup or wake.

  1. Allow the warmup process to complete.
  2. If the machine never reaches ready/online and shows another error, troubleshoot that more specific message.
Job / busy

Busy

The machine is processing another job or operation.

  1. Check the job-status screen for active work.
  2. Allow the current operation to finish or cancel it normally if appropriate.
  3. If “Busy” never clears, inspect the queue/job status before power-cycling.
