Toshiba e-STUDIO Job Status and Error Messages

Toshiba's e-STUDIO job list uses short status messages for paper, toner, account, transmission and machine faults. The exact wording matters: a normal job-status message is different from a six-digit NGxxxxxx communication failure or a Call for service. Code: xx-xx machine fault.

Verified model scopee-STUDIO907, e-STUDIO1057 and e-STUDIO1207. Similar messages can appear on other e-STUDIO families, but use the exact model manual when the wording or procedure differs.
Supplies / toner

Toner Empty — toner is empty

Toshiba lists Toner Empty as a job-status condition, and its toner guide says printing cannot continue after the machine reaches the empty state.

  1. Read the machine message to identify the toner that needs replacement.
  2. Replace the cartridge using the normal toner-replacement procedure for the exact model.
  3. Do not open the toner area merely because toner is low; Toshiba distinguishes the prepare/replacement messages from the empty state.
Paper supply

Paper Empty — selected paper source is empty

The job is waiting because the requested source has no usable paper.

  1. Load the paper requested on the touch panel.
  2. Confirm the tray guides and registered paper size/type match what was loaded.
  3. Resume the job after the machine recognizes the paper.
Paper jam

Jam — paper jam or misfeed

Toshiba uses Jam in the job list when a paper misfeed stops the job.

  1. Follow the touch-panel jam-removal path and remove all sheets and scraps indicated by the machine.
  2. Check that the paper is within specification and the tray guides are set correctly.
  3. If jams repeat in the same location with correctly loaded paper, stop repeated forcing and arrange service.
Account / policy

Limit — account limit reached

Toshiba defines Limit as reaching the applicable account limit.

  1. Confirm you are signed in under the intended user/account.
  2. If accounting or user restrictions are managed centrally, ask the administrator to check the limit rather than changing printer hardware settings.
  3. Retry after the account restriction is corrected.
Transmission / confirmation

No Report — delivery confirmation timed out

On completed jobs, Toshiba defines No Report as a delivery-confirmation receive timeout.

  1. Do not assume this means the scanner hardware failed.
  2. Check the destination/service used by the transmission and whether a delivery confirmation was expected.
  3. Verify the destination separately before resending important documents.
Transmission / communication

NGxxxxxx — communication error with a six-digit code

Toshiba states that an unsuccessful transmission or reception can appear as NG followed by a six-digit communication error code.

  1. Record all six digits after NG; do not shorten the code.
  2. Identify whether the failed job was fax, Scan to E-mail, FTP, network folder or another image-send job.
  3. Use the exact model's communication/error reference or provide the full code to support. Do not substitute a meaning from a different Toshiba family.
Job / general error

Error — job execution error

The job list uses the generic word Error when an error occurred while the job was being executed.

  1. Open the job details/history and look for a more specific accompanying message or code.
  2. Correct the specific paper, supply, destination or machine condition shown elsewhere on the panel.
  3. If no detail is available and the error repeats, record the job type and exact model before escalating.
Service / machine fault

Call for service. Code: xx-xx — machine fault

Toshiba's troubleshooting guide treats this as a machine fault that may require service.

  1. Wait until the job-status background is gray so no job is actively writing data.
  2. Use the normal power controls to shut the machine down, wait at least 10 seconds, and restart it.
  3. If the message returns, stop using the machine, record the complete xx-xx code, and contact Toshiba service or the servicing dealer. Do not attempt service-mode resets from unrelated models.
Finisher / service

The finisher is out of order. Turn the power on again. xx-xx

Toshiba identifies this message as a finisher fault.

  1. Check the finisher cable connection without opening internal electrical assemblies.
  2. Remove and firmly reseat the accessible finisher connection if the model's normal user procedure permits it.
  3. Restart the machine. If the xx-xx code returns, record it and arrange service.
Supplies / waste toner

Replace Waste Toner Box — waste-toner container requires replacement

Toshiba lists the waste-toner condition among machine statuses and directs replacement when the box is full.

  1. Follow the touch-panel replacement instructions for the exact model.
  2. Keep the container level and avoid spilling toner.
  3. Install the replacement fully and confirm the message clears before resuming large jobs.
