Phone and printer are not on the same Wi-Fi
When a phone or tablet cannot find a printer, comparing the Wi-Fi names is one of the easiest first checks.
1. Check the phone or tablet
iPhone/iPad: open Settings → Wi-Fi and look for the network with the checkmark.
Android: open Settings or the Wi-Fi panel and look for the network marked connected. The menu name can vary by phone maker.
2. Check the printer
If the printer has a screen, open its Wi-Fi or Network screen and look for the network name. You do not need the password for this check.
3. If the names are different
Connect the phone/tablet and printer to the same normal home or office network. Then try printing again.
4. Watch for Guest or Visitor Wi-Fi
Guest networks are often designed to keep devices apart. A phone and printer can both say “Connected” and still be unable to see each other.
5. Do not reset the router just for this
Correct the network mismatch first. A router or printer factory reset can create more setup work than the original problem.
