Print from an Android phone or tablet

Many Android devices already include a printing service. Try the built-in option before installing another printer app.

1. Make sure the printer is ready

Turn it on, load paper, and clear any message shown on the printer.

2. Check the Wi-Fi

For normal local printing, put the Android device and printer on the same home or office Wi-Fi network.

3. Make sure printing is turned on

Android menus vary by phone maker. Open Settings and search for Printing. Open Printing, Print services, or a similar result and make sure a built-in/default print service is on.

4. Print from an app

Open the item you want to print. Look under Menu, More, or Share for Print. Choose the printer, check the preview, and print one simple page.

If you do not see PrintNot every Android app supports printing. Try another app before changing the printer.

5. If the printer does not appear

Use the Android can't find the printer guide. Do not install several print services at once; that can make the printer list more confusing.
