Printer is missing black or color
If black or one color disappears, first see whether the printer's own test page is missing it too.
1. Print a test page from the printer
If the same color is missing there: the problem is in the printer. Check that ink or toner supply, then use the normal cleaning or maintenance steps for your exact model.
If the printer's page has all the colors: move on to the computer settings.
2. Make sure color printing is turned on
Windows: open the Print window and look for Color, Grayscale, Black & White, or Monochrome.
Mac: choose File → Print and look for Print in Color if your printer shows that option.
3. Try another program
Print a small color page from another program. If it works there, the original program or document is probably the cause.
4. Do not keep running cleaning cycles
Inkjet cleaning uses ink. Run the printer maker's normal cleaning only as directed, then test before doing it again. For laser printers, follow the exact model's toner or maintenance instructions.
