Printer stopped working after a new router or Wi-Fi change
If the router, internet provider, Wi-Fi name, or Wi-Fi password changed, the printer may still be trying to use the old network. You usually do not need a new printer or a computer repair.
1. Check the Wi-Fi name on your computer or phone
Open Wi-Fi settings and look for the network marked Connected. Remember that name.
2. Check the printer
If the printer has a screen, open Wi-Fi, Wireless, or Network. If it shows the old network name, or shows no Wi-Fi connection, it needs to be connected again.
3. Reconnect using the printer's normal setup
Use the printer's own Wireless Setup Wizard, network setup menu, WPS option, or the printer maker's official setup app. Enter the new Wi-Fi password when asked.
Printers without a screen often have a Wi-Fi setup mode. The button combination is different by model, so use the instructions for the exact model rather than a random reset video.
4. Try one page
Once the printer shows the same Wi-Fi name as your device, try the original print job again. If it works, stop here.
5. If the printer is connected but still cannot be found
Use the printer is on Wi-Fi but cannot be found guide. If only Windows still says Offline, use the Windows offline guide instead.
