These are formatting/lookup aliases for this reviewed condition, not separate error pages.
- E-5
- e-5
What usually causes it
- The router was changed to a different WPA/WPA2/WPA3 or enterprise security configuration.
- A saved printer profile still uses an older security mode from before a router replacement or network change.
- The selected SSID requires a security method that this printer profile is not currently configured to use.
What to try
Check the security mode on the intended SSID
Use the router/access-point settings or ask the network administrator which wireless security mode is active.
Compare that mode with the printer's saved wireless settings
Do not change the password repeatedly if the underlying security type itself does not match.
Use a security mode supported by both the Epson and the network
If the router is enterprise-managed, coordinate the change with the administrator rather than weakening the whole WLAN.
Reconnect and print a new network report
Verify E-5 clears before troubleshooting IP addressing or application printing.
After each corrective action
Retry the same operation that produced E-5. If it now works, stop there rather than changing unrelated printer, network, supply, or service settings.
If the code returns
If E-5 returns after both sides use the same supported security mode, remove the stale wireless profile and set up the intended SSID again using Epson's documented network setup.
When service may be needed
A persistent security-mode mismatch is a configuration/interoperability problem. Avoid disabling Wi-Fi security; escalate to the network administrator or Epson if compatible settings still fail.
