Epson Network Report Code E-10

One or more manual network values—IP address, subnet mask, or default gateway—do not fit the current network.

Error meaning

IP address, subnet mask, or default gateway settings are incorrect.

This meaning is tied to the reviewed family/platform and subsystem below; do not reuse the number or wording by itself on a different printer family or protocol.

  • E-10
  • e-10

What usually causes it

  • The IP address and subnet mask describe a different network than the router uses.
  • The default gateway is mistyped or points outside the printer's local subnet.
  • Old static settings remained after a router replacement, VLAN change, or network renumbering.

What to try

Step 1

Record the current IP, mask, and gateway from the report

Keep the values together; checking only the IP address can miss an incorrect mask or gateway.

Step 2

Compare them with the router or another correctly configured device

Use the network administrator's values for the intended VLAN or home network.

Step 3

Use DHCP unless a static address is intentionally required

Automatic assignment is safer than guessing. For a required static address, use an address the administrator has reserved.

Step 4

Run the network check again after correcting all three values

Confirm the report no longer shows E-10 before moving to printer drivers or application settings.

After each corrective action

Retry the same operation that produced E-10. If it now works, stop there rather than changing unrelated printer, network, supply, or service settings.

If the code returns

If E-10 persists after correct manual values are entered, switch temporarily to DHCP to determine whether the problem is the static configuration or the underlying network path.

When service may be needed

This is normally an IP configuration issue. Epson service is rarely needed unless the printer cannot save valid network settings.
