Epson Network Report Code E-6
The router or access point may be blocking the printer because of a network access restriction such as MAC-address filtering.
Error meaning
Router/access-point restrictions such as MAC filtering may be blocking the printer.
This meaning is tied to the reviewed family/platform and subsystem below; do not reuse the number or wording by itself on a different printer family or protocol.
Applies to

- ET-3940
- ET-3950
Common formatting
These are formatting/lookup aliases for this reviewed condition, not separate error pages.
- E-6
- e-6
What usually causes it
- MAC filtering or an allow-list does not include the printer's wireless MAC address.
- Client isolation, access control, parental controls, or another router policy denies this device.
- The printer was replaced or its interface changed, so the network policy still references an older MAC/device entry.
What to try
Find the printer's network MAC address
Use the Epson network report or network status screen so the administrator checks the exact interface being used.
Review router access controls
Check MAC filters, allow/deny lists, client isolation, device blocking, or enterprise NAC rules for that address.
Correct the policy without disabling protections globally
Add or authorize the printer according to the network's normal device policy rather than turning off all access controls.
Reconnect and rerun the network check
After the printer is authorized, obtain a fresh report to confirm E-6 clears.
After each corrective action
Retry the same operation that produced E-6. If it now works, stop there rather than changing unrelated printer, network, supply, or service settings.
If the code returns
If E-6 persists even though the printer is explicitly allowed, check whether another access point, mesh node, or security system is applying a separate device policy.
When service may be needed
This is normally a router/network-policy issue. Escalate to the network administrator rather than resetting the printer repeatedly or disabling network security.
