How to Print a Windows Test Page

A Windows test page is useful because it removes your normal app and document from the test. If the test page prints, the printer connection and Windows queue are working well enough to send a basic job.

Quick checks

  • Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
  • Select the printer you want to test.
  • Open Printer properties if needed and choose Print Test Page.
  • Use the result to decide whether to keep troubleshooting Windows or the original app.

Try these fixes in order

Step 1

Open the printer in Settings

Go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners and choose the affected printer.

Step 2

Open printer properties

Look for Printer properties or a similar printer-management option. The exact presentation can vary by Windows build and printer driver.

Step 3

Choose Print Test Page

Send the test. Watch both the Windows queue and the printer.

Step 4

If the test page prints

The printer can receive a basic Windows job. Go back to the original app or document and troubleshoot that path rather than reinstalling the printer.

Step 5

If the test page does not print

Check the queue, offline status, connection, or driver setup. The problem is not limited to the original document.
